We are currently recruiting for a Plumber to join our Mechanical Division in mid-west Region on a full time, permanent contract.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct mechanical installations, gas welding, soldering, brazing and all associated mechanical plant.
  • Involved in both the installation and maintenance of hot and cold water systems in domestic and commercial buildings, sanitation, drainage and heating systems, electronic controllers, theory and practice.
  • Assist with the training of apprentices and continue to mentor and develop same.
  • Read drawings and design specifications in accordance with project requirements.
  • Review design process to ensure installations are fit for purpose.
  • Identify materials required for site, liaise with the Procurement Department regarding same.
  • Coordinate delivery of materials to site, including checking quantity and quality of deliveries and taking responsibility for same.
  • Liaise with foreman, main contractors and other trades personnel as required.
  • Maintain a full understanding of Health & Safety and Quality Procedures associated with all aspects of the job.
  • Take instruction from Foreman and/or Senior Management to ensure project deadlines/milestones are achieved on or ahead of schedule.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems promptly and address any deficiencies on a project in a timely manner.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned by site management.
  • Support the Project Manager in promoting excellent customer service and strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Act as a brand ambassador and contribute to the company's expansion.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary for the efficiency of the business.
Skills and Knowledge Required
  • QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate (or equivalent) in Plumbing
  • SOLAS Safe Pass and Manual Handling certificate
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a fast-paced commercial environment
  • Understanding of construction documentation is an advantage
  • Problem-solving with a real-time approach
  • Conscientious with high attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Motivated self-starter, able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent English
