The Role

Tesco Ireland is seeking to appoint a Line Manager who will have responsibility for supporting and leading a department and a team to deliver the best shop for our customers.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead and coach your team to deliver great service, standards and availability for customers.
• Deliver all key performance indicators for your departments.
• Lead a team, making decisions daily that support colleagues to do their jobs.
• Deliver the training plan, ensuring all colleagues receive quality training, are validated to do their job and have an up-to-date training card.
• Ensure processes, routines and systems for your departments are completed accurately and on time.
• Plan seasonal, trading and promotional activities to achieve maximum sales, impact and presentation.
• Be responsible for safe and legal routines for the departments, ensuring plans address identified issues.
• Ensure colleagues understand the importance of the "what" and the "how", have objectives, regular reviews, career discussions and a live PDP.
• Provide regular coaching and feedback to improve the skills of the team.
• Coach the team to call out behavioural issues and improve the shopping trip for customers.
• Create an environment that encourages innovation and personal growth.
• Role model a culture where customers love to shop and colleagues love to work.

Responsibilities You Will Have

• Always put the customer first and consider them in everything you do.
• Know your customers and serve them with pride.
• Help ensure products and services are available for customers at all times.
• Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in good condition.
• Keep the shop floor and back areas clean and tidy at all times.
• Follow department routines and processes using training received.
• Follow company policies and Health and Safety routines.
• Be prepared to support colleagues in other departments when needed.

Experience

• Must have previous management experience.
• Demonstrated track record for the Line Manager role includes delivering customer and colleague value, adaptability, fast-paced objective delivery, and being a reliable go-to for department queries.
• Retail experience preferred.
