Purpose of the Role:

  1. Manage governance Assurance for Diageo Supply Chain and Procurement.

  2. Codify the process. Plan and develop risk performance, Standards and Capabilities to improve market / site(s) scorecard targets.

  3. This supports the implementation of the Global Assurance Strategy and is aligned with Performance Ambition to be trusted by all partners for doing business the right way, from grain to glass. Minimise risk of harm to reputation through not meeting customer requirements (internal and external)

  4. Responsible for the overall global assurance of management systems, standards, procedures, risk assurance management, business continuity mgt and controls to confirm compliance with applicable regulatory and legal requirements as well as good business practices.

  5. The Global Assurance Specialist with Global Capability Uplift will focus on markets/functions of the greatest need and not be specifically facing towards a region, as directed by the Global Governance Assurance Manager.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Sets assurance strategy for Global Governance owned Standards including H&S, Quality & Environment, Foundation, plus Security, BCM. Lead key programmes for improve and transform.

  2. Manages GRMS compliance. Lead key programmes for improve and transform.

  3. Manages audit schedules, standards, audit results, KPIs, audit calibration, ISO / GFSI assurance, action plans and follow up. Lead Independent Assurance audits to confirm compliance and maturity. Lead the successful implementation of Enablon Audit.

  4. Governance standards assurance for all global areas:

  5. Standardisation of the implementation of the GRMS Compliance Programme – owns the framework, tools and reporting globally

  6. Diageo Way of Brewing (DWB) Compliance Programme – owns the framework, tools and reporting at Beer sites

  7. Diageo Way of Mainstream Spirits (DWMS) – as above

  8. Diageo Way of RTDs

  9. Diageo Way of Tequila/Spirits

  10. Implementation and Development of the Global Audit Management System tool (Enablon AMS) – Superuser, Key Vendor Contact.

  11. Focussed on outputs of GRMS, IAA, GFSI Assurance, external audits, & market risk footprints to identify H&S, Quality, Environment risks, and support market Governance teams to mitigate

  12. Sets governance assurance framework for Supplier Assurance & TPO

  13. ISO Certification – management of contract with LRQA, reporting, assurance of the ISO certification globally

  14. Governance input to DSC&P RMC with regards to governance-owned risks, in line with other categories and functions

  15. Deliver codified annual and 3-year roadmaps with markets. For developing markets, lead maturity Improvement and transformation programmes to develop market capability.

  16. Mentor and lead on technical risk and assurance to internal collaborators on meeting Diageo standards, targets and capabilities.

  17. Harmonise governance risk and assurance with other wider activities such as GAR, CARM, Willis, Customs

  18. Drive engagement for the implementation of standard processes in the areas of Governance R Assurance. Promote and raise risk assurance awareness, at all levels for the impact of governance issues.

  19. Manage relationships with relevant bodies such as external partners, local authorities, public bodies and proficient bodies.

Skills and Experience:

  1. A proven track record in projects and cross-functional team working.

  2. Sophisticated competency in risk and assurance

  3. Great engagement and communication skills, experience of coaching and influencing a range of partners for success

  4. At least 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment. Has delivered change programmes.

  5. Typically educated to degree standard in a relevant governance field equivalent and or science related subject area or qualified through relevant experience. Overall, excellent knowledge of supply chain standards and relevant legislation.
