Overview

To work as a senior member of the inter-disciplinary team providing services to children and families within the region. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of an occupational therapy service to include assessment, diagnostics and intervention, clinical and performance supervision and ongoing service delivery to children with a range of disabilities in the service. Services are provided to children aged 0 - 18 years with significant complex intervention needs and may include physical, sensory, learning disabilities, developmental delay and autism.

Responsibilities
  • Provide an occupational therapy service including assessment, diagnostics, intervention, clinical and performance supervision, and ongoing service delivery to children with a range of disabilities.
  • Work as part of an inter-disciplinary team; contribute to service planning and delivery for children aged 0 - 18 years.
Essential Criteria
  • Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
  • Have three years full time (or an aggregate of three years) post-qualification clinical experience.
  • Have the knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office, including a high standard of suitability and professional ability.
  • Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
  • Annual Registration: maintain annual registration on the CORU register on appointment and confirm annual registration with CORU to Enable Ireland.
  • Be eligible to work in the State and hold a valid driving licence for within the State/jurisdiction with access to own transport to deliver services across a large geographical area.
Desirable Criteria
  • Relevant postgraduate training specific to 0-18 years (e.g., Sensory Integration, Bobath, NDT, Feeding, Postural Management).
  • Training and experience in assessment and intervention of children with autism.
  • Experience supervising basic grade occupational therapists and/or students.
  • 2+ years working in paediatric services with a variety of disabilities and/or complex needs.
  • Minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience with children with disabilities/developmental delay and their families.
  • Experience in conducting Assessment of Need and working with children aged 0-18 years and their families.
  • Experience prescribing and monitoring equipment based on children\'s needs.
Contract and Location
  • Contract Type: Permanent Full Time.
  • Contract Hours: 1.0 WTE 35 hours per week.
  • Salary Scale: €57,771 to €68,385 pro rata per annum (LSI increments apply).
  • Annual Leave Entitlement: 33 days pro rata per annum, proportionate for less than 12 months service.
  • Base: CHO 8 Meath CDNT 4 Dunshaughlin / East Meath, Bettystown.
