Senior Dietician – Waterford University Hospital

Dietician required by Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with the HSE, for a new opportunity in Waterford University Hospital.

This Senior Paediatric Dietitian role is to provide cover the UHW paediatric diabetes service, with the opportunity to upskill in other paediatric areas.

University Hospital Waterford (UHW) is a model 4 hospital within the HSE Dublin South & South East RHA and provides a broad range of regional services to the population of the South East (497,578), The total bed capacity is 535.It is one of the 8 National Cancer Centres and is a dedicated teaching hospital for UCC and RCSI students.

Services include: Emergency Department, ENT, Surgery inc. General, Colorectal, Vascular, Urology and Breast, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics & Neonatology, Pathology, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, General Medicine inc. Gastroenterology, Respiratory Medicine, Endocrinology, Medicine for the Elderly, Rheumatology, Nephrology, Cardiology, Medical

Oncology and Haematology.

The hospital also provides Diagnostic Radiological and Pathology services as well as Nutrition and Dietetics, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Cardiac Diagnostic and Rehabilitation Services, Renal Services, Respiratory Services.

The Department of Nutrition & Dietetics provides a service to a wide range of areas including General Medicine, Renals, Stroke Service, General Surgery, Critical Care, Paediatrics & Neo Natal Care, Obstetrics & Maternity and Cancer Services

The department comprises of 20.0 WTE dietitians at present and is progressively increasing in staff in line with the hospitals strategic/operational plan.The department has a very busy dietetic service catering to both inpatients and outpatients.It is an enthusiastic and dynamic department that is very committed to CPD to support evidence-based practice.The department participates in training for dietetic students from TUD/Trinity College Dublin undergraduate and UCC MSc courses.

The Candidate:


• A recognised qualification as a Dietician with CORU registration


• Experience in a similar setting desirable


• Permission to work in Ireland


• Professional approach to work
