Title: Assistant Manager / Supermac's - Papa John's

Job Purpose

The Assistant Manager provides ongoing support to the Store Manager to ensure that the outlet meets or exceeds the targets established for their unit. The Assistant Manager works as a team with training coordinators and staff at the unit level. The Assistant Manager reports to the Store Manager. Ongoing support and development is given by the Store Manager, and various management duties will be delegated as necessary. The Assistant Manager is fully responsible for the customers, staff, operations, and cash on his/her shift, and will be held accountable to ensure company policy is met in each area.

The Job
SUPERVISORY

• Supervise the activities of team members daily and ensure necessary tasks are completed to an appropriate level.
• Ensure that high-quality and consistent customer service is provided at all times.
• Delegate and communicate effectively with the team members.
• Supervise the effective induction and training of all employees.
• Communicate sales performance to management.
• Assist the store manager in the recruitment of high-calibre team members.
• Assist the store manager in the effective management of team members' performance.

OPERATIONS

• Provide quality products to our customers by ensuring each delivered product meets Supermac's and/or Papa John's standards and accurately reflects the customer's order. Respond to all customers' concerns or issues promptly.
• Merchandise the store in a customer-friendly and competitive manner, ensuring compliance with company procedures and guidelines.
• Maintain housekeeping in the store at an optimum level.
• Coordinate in-store sales and promotions.
• Communicate with team members regarding in-store sales and promotions.
• Adhere to the cash register and cash handling policy.
• Respond to local market trends and competition appropriately.
• Ensure customers receive high-quality and consistent service at all times.
• Handle and rectify customer complaints effectively and pleasantly.
• Take necessary action in-store improvements following customer complaints.

STOCK MANAGEMENT

• Assist the manager in preparations for stock take and supervise where appropriate.
• Minimise stock loss through wastage, damages, and pilferage.
• Ensure food management and waste systems are adhered to by team members.
• Check stock to ensure adequate stock is available for customers' needs.
• Ensure stock is rotated to minimise waste and ensure in-date stock is available.

LEGISLATION & SECURITY

• Ensure secure opening and closing procedures with the store manager.
• Assist the manager in matters relating to Labour Law, HACCP, Health & Safety, and Consumer Legislation.
• Identify and reduce potential hazards in the store.
• Work with the Store Manager to ensure Health & Safety checks are conducted and actioned accordingly.

Nature Of The Job & Challenges

• Maintain strong quality control standards and work with the Store Manager to achieve sales and profits while managing people from diverse backgrounds.
• Develop management quality, skills, and self-sufficiency.
• Work with fellow management and staff to build positive relationships and motivate with frequent personal contact.
• Drive turnover down at both the salaried manager and crew levels in collaboration with the Store Manager.

Work Environment

Fast-paced, non-stop environment. The role can be physically demanding due to customer volume, staffing levels, and overall preparedness. High business volumes may require prolonged periods of standing.
