Role Title

Assistant Manager / Supermac's - Papa John's

Job Purpose

The Assistant Manager provides ongoing support to the Store Manager to ensure that the outlet meets or exceeds the targets established for their unit. The Assistant Manager works as a team with training coordinators and staff at the unit level. The Assistant Manager reports to the Store Manager. Ongoing support and development is given by the Store Manager, and various management duties will be delegated as necessary. The Assistant Manager is fully responsible for the customers, staff, operations, and cash on their shift, and will be held accountable to ensure company policy is met in each area.

The JobSupervisory

• Supervise the activities of team members daily and ensure necessary tasks are completed to an appropriate level
• Ensure that high-quality and consistent customer service is provided at all times
• Delegate and communicate effectively with team members
• Supervise the effective induction and training of all employees
• Communicate sales performance to management
• Assist the store manager in the recruitment of high-calibre team members
• Assist the store manager in the effective management of team members' performance

Operations

• Provide quality products to customers by ensuring each delivered product meets Supermac's and/or Papa John's standards and reflects the customer's order
• Respond professionally and promptly to customer concerns or issues
• Merchandise the store in a customer-friendly and competitive manner, in line with company procedures
• Maintain optimal housekeeping
• Coordinate in-store sales and promotions
• Communicate with team members regarding in-store promotions
• Adhere to cash handling policies
• Respond to local market trends and competition appropriately
• Ensure high-quality and consistent service at all times
• Address and rectify customer complaints effectively and positively
• Take necessary actions for store improvements following customer feedback

Stock Management

• Assist the manager in stock take preparations and supervision
• Minimise stock loss through wastage, damages, and pilferage
• Ensure food management and waste systems are followed
• Check stock levels to meet customer needs
• Rotate stock to minimise waste and ensure in-date products

Legislation & Security

• Ensure secure opening and closing procedures with the store manager
• Assist in compliance with Labour Law, HACCP, Health & Safety, and Consumer Legislation
• Identify and reduce potential hazards
• Work with the Store Manager to conduct and action Health & Safety checks

• Maintain strong quality control standards, working with the Store Manager to achieve sales and profits while managing a diverse team
• Significant upgrade of management quality and self-sufficiency
• Collaborate with management and staff to build positive relationships and motivate through frequent personal contact
• Drive turnover down at both salaried and crew levels

Work Environment

Fast-paced, non-stop environment. The role can be physically demanding due to customer volume, staffing levels, and overall preparedness. High business volumes may require prolonged standing.
