About the Opportunity
Dairygold Co-Operative Society Limited is now pleased to invite applications for the position of QC Lab Technician for our Central Laboratory Mitchelstown within the Dairy Food Ingredients Division. This is a fixed term Maternity Leave position.
Reporting to the Quality Control Officer the successful candidate will be responsible for the timely completion of sample analysis ensuring accurate results are returned to the operations and quality functions to enable compliance with food safety, legal and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Strict adherence to Health & Safety guidelines and requirements throughout the laboratory. Reporting of any hazards, near misses or incidents
- Complete analysis as per relevant test plans for in-process, intermediate and finished product samples ensuring good documentation and laboratory practices are adhered to throughout
- Attend and actively participate in daily workgroup team meetings
- Be an active team participant in continuous improvement, investigations, internal audits and problem resolution
- Calibration checks and maintenance of laboratory equipment and involvement in the installation, commissioning and running of new laboratory equipment, including new techniques
- Maintain Quality Control checks to verify accuracy of testing/instrumentation
- Stock and consumable control and monitoring
What you will bring to Dairygold/We want to hear from you if you have:
- Third level qualification in the field of science or other relevant area
- 1 years experience in Food/Drinks/Pharmaceutical or Environmental Laboratory is desired
- IT literate and proficient in software packages (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Good interpersonal & communication skills
- Results-orientated, data driven with a proven record of achievement
- Attention to detail
