About Us
The Guinness Archive at Guinness Storehouse, Ireland's leading visitor attraction welcoming millions of visitors every year, plays an integral role in protecting and handling the history and heritage of the GUINNESS brand globally, along with Diageo beer brands and Roe & Co.
Heritage is recognized as a vital growth driver within Diageo. Our outstanding team of Guinness Archivists are custodians of our beer brands, charged with preserving their provenance, demonstrating cultural relevance, and being professionals and experts in our field.
Our purpose is to preserve, catalogue, and make accessible existing archival material, acquire new material, and provide brand expertise and authentication for a wide range of Diageo teams across different functions and markets in an inspiring and outstanding way. The Guinness Archive is also the only brand archive open to the public in Ireland.
If you have a genuine passion for our craft, character, and heritage, then help us continue the story and build a great career in the process.
Feel inspired? Then this may be the opportunity for you.
About the Role
As our Digital Archivist, you will play a key role within the Archive team with specific responsibility for the digital archive collection. You will be the technical lead for the team to ensure the long-term access and preservation of born-digital and digitized archive material. This involves strong project management skills as you will implement a Digital Preservation Management System to handle digital records. With your digital-first approach, you will lead all aspects of the preservation system, from cataloguing to ingestion to secure storage.
You will work effectively and collaboratively with the Archive Manager and will use the knowledge acquired from the collection to deliver outstanding expertise to all users, internal and external, in an efficient and inspiring manner. You will be a true storyteller and a Brand Ambassador for Guinness and its impactful story. The role involves interaction with media, VIPs, and senior partners within Diageo to bring the story of our brand to life.
To ensure we celebrate the heritage of our brands, you will handle the internal communications strategy, ensuring the Archive remains relevant and top of mind for key internal collaborators.
About You
This is the dream role for someone eager to join an impactful, dedicated, and inspirational team at the heart of the Guinness story.
You will hold an MA in Archives and Records Management, with over 5 years of professional experience. You will have a consistent record of working with digital collections and be capable of effectively managing multiple digital projects, working to deadlines with accuracy, perseverance, and attention to detail.
Since the role requires extensive stakeholder management, you will be able to build trustworthy relationships with internal and external collaborators and partners. As a brand ambassador, you will have the ability to encourage and empower audiences when presenting.
We value character highly. We're looking for enthusiastic, curious, and energetic individuals. Self-motivated, tenacious team players who want to learn and grow quickly.
Celebrating our inclusive and diverse culture is core to Diageo's purpose of "celebrating life every day everywhere." This purpose values everybody regardless of background, disability, religion, gender identity, sexuality, or ethnicity.
We know that for our business to thrive, we need diverse talent with a range of backgrounds, skills, and capabilities in each of the 180 countries where we operate, reflecting our broad consumer base. Diversity is a key enabler for our growth, and our values, purpose, and standards foster an environment of respect for everyone's contributions.
Flexibility is key to success. Many staff work flexibly, including part-time, compressed hours, or in different locations. Please discuss what flexibility means to you and do not hesitate to apply.
