Overview

Join to apply for the Mammography Clinical Specialist role at Alliance Medical Ireland in Ballysimon, Limerick. The role involves setting up the new department protocols for Mammography, governance of the area from a radiation safety perspective, and the induction and training of staff into the area. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team with Radiologists and Healthcare Assistants and liaising with consultants and nurses who are part of the patient pathway. There may be opportunities to skill mix across other modalities in the Diagnostic Imaging Department after the initial establishment period. While carrying out duties appropriate to a Radiographer in the Radiology department, you will rotate through other areas to maintain professional competence.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and implement Mammography department protocols and governance from a radiation safety perspective.
  • Induct and train staff into the Mammography area.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team with Radiologists, Healthcare Assistants, consultants and nurses.
  • Rotate through other areas in the Diagnostic Imaging Department as required.
Key Requirements
  • CORU Registration
  • Ability to lead and guide a team
  • 4+ Years Experience in Mammography in a large hospital setting
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Mammography
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Flexibility & Adaptability
