Overview

Health Care Assistant (HCA) role at Aurora. We are looking for HCAs to assist the people we support in all aspects of daily living in line with individual care plans. The HCA must be flexible in their approach to service provision and should have the ability to work as a member of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist people supported in daily living in line with agreed care plans.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and apply basic hygiene and infection control knowledge.
  • Work as part of a team and contribute to a flexible, responsive service.
  • Document and communicate effectively; contribute to reporting as required (e.g., MS Office applications).
Qualifications
  • A certificate in Healthcare Support at QQI Level 5 (all 8 modules completed).
Experience and skills
  • Experience in supporting individuals to live a good life.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Ability to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and report writing.
Additional requirements
  • Must be willing and able to work rosters that include days, nights, weekends and sleepovers.
  • Must be willing to drive Aurora's transport vehicles and participate in swimming pool activities (as required).
  • A full, clean, manual Irish driving licence and own transportation are essential.
  • Contract types: Permanent (full time) as well as Relief contracts available.
