Job Description:

Our client is seeking a locum Consultant in Anaesthetics for an initial period of 12 weeks with the possible scope to extend the term.

The ideal candidate will be providing high-quality anaesthesia services across surgical specialties and contributing to multidisciplinary care.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team in a well-equipped, modern hospital. The role involves delivering anaesthesia services, participating in on-call rotas, and contributing to teaching, clinical audit, and service development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide consultant-level anaesthetic care across elective and emergency services

Participate in the perioperative care of surgical patients

Supervise and support NCHDs and other healthcare professionals

Engage in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives

Participate in the General Anaesthesia on-call rota

Contribute to the teaching of medical students and junior doctors

Support multidisciplinary team meetings and service development

Eligibility Criteria:

Registration: Applicants must be registered on the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland in the specialty of Anaesthesiology

Experience: Proven clinical experience at consultant or senior registrar level

Training: Completion of specialist training in Anaesthesiology (CCST/CCT or equivalent)

English Language: Must meet HSE English language proficiency requirements
