Our LV Switchgear division designs and manufactures electrical distribution equipment for business-critical applications throughout Europe. Due to continued growth, Vertiv/E&I Engineering Ltd is seeking to recruit ambitious and motivated Electrical Design Engineers to join our team. The successful candidates will use electrical design software and established electrical standards to create compliant design solutions based on client specifications. This role suits someone who enjoys technical challenges and applying electrical principles to produce successful solutions in a busy design office, with proximity to the manufacturing environment for testing and validation. Role ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Electrical Design Manager, this position offers an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional in design and controls engineering of power distribution equipment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing detailed electrical schematics, single line diagrams, and communication network drawings in compliance with customer packages, specifications, and budgets.
- Preparing electrical bill of materials.
- Collaborating with mechanical and automation design teams, along with project management, to identify and resolve issues, ensuring successful project completion.
- Applying IEC/IET/IEE standards to ensure products meet all relevant electrical regulations and standards.
- Working with project management to meet or exceed project timelines and goals across multiple projects.
- 3rd level qualification in Engineering or 5 years relevant experience in a similar role.
- Aptitude for problem solving and applying this to electrical control design.
- Adaptability to respond to a fast-moving business environment.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, flexible approach to teamwork.
- Knowledge of low voltage switchgear and basic understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Proven experience in a related position involving design software like AutoCAD, SEE Electrical, etc.
