Lead Recruiter - Accountancy & Finance at Savvy People

Our client, a small but growing & progressive accountancy practice in Cork are looking for an experienced practice Accountant to join their team on a hybrid (Cork) or remote (in Ireland) basis. You will be reporting directly to the Partner.

You will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of clients, delivering accounting, compliance, and advisory services.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main point of contact for a varied portfolio of SME clients.
  • Develop and nurture strong client relationships.
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with Irish accounting standards and regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of working papers and periodic management accounts.
  • Prepare corporation and income tax returns.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities for clients.
  • Company secretarial services and CFO filings.
  • Offer tailored business and financial advisory services to meet the clients' specific needs.
  • Streamline workflows and improve processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with changed in Irish accounting and tax regulations.

What we require from you?

  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA).
  • At least 6-7 years' of recent experience in an Irish accountancy practice. The role is suitable for candidates coming from a small firm or a medium sized practice. Extensive accounts preparation experience in practice is essential.
  • Experience managing a diverse client portfolio.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Irish accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in Sage Accounts Production and MS Office Suite. Experience with Sage 50/Xero an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
