Overview

The role involves supporting and/or managing major CI programs, including involvement at various phases from idea to execution. It also includes responsibilities as a Sales Assistant in Chadwicks, Togher branch, providing knowledgeable, friendly, and dependable service. Other duties include management of Thermal Control System (TCS) for space-related missions, establishing thermal models, and maintaining key client relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting and/or managing major CI Programs as required, which may include involvement at any or all phases of project/program from idea to execution.
  • Managing and establishing thermal models like GMM and TMM; managing Thermal Control System (TCS) for space-related missions.
  • Managing and nurturing relationships with key clients to ensure high-level support.
  • Leading and managing change and development projects across various governing contexts and implementation environments.
  • Supervising and motivating teams, managing objectives, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Managing enterprise-class support teams and creating processes that enhance customer support efficiency.
  • Supporting and/or managing major continuous improvement (CI) programs through all phases of projects;
  • Ensuring alignment with company standards and customer requirements;
  • Acting as primary liaison for external auditors, managing audit timelines, documentation requests, and issue resolution.

Senior Operations Manager – Stryker Tullagreen, Cork

Due to significant growth, we are looking to hire a Senior Operations Manager to join our Stryker Tullagreen manufacturing site in Cork. In collaboration with our customers, we are mission driven to make healthcare better by providing innovative orthopaedic and spine implants which help to improve patient outcomes daily.

Here you will be a key member of the Site Leadership Team with responsibility for Site Strategy, Future Capacity Planning & the gatekeeper for NPI's, PT's and MT's. This role will suit someone who puts people first, has a track record of developing top talent, has strong business acumen and an ability to understand technical manufacturing processes.

What You will Do:
  • Day-to-day effective management of production, ensuring products are produced in a timely and cost-effective manner.

  • Lead teams to deliver a quality-first culture, customer service, enable growth, continuous improvement of products and processes, and drive engagement of the operations teams, ensuring alignment to Stryker Corporate and SGS requirements and standards.

  • Mentor to other Operations Managers.

  • Establish performance targets for the Business Unit(s) and monitor performance against targets, taking corrective action as needed.

  • Lead high-performing teams across units, providing guidance to operational and functional areas on site, fostering proactive continuous improvement.

  • Mentor and coach other Operations Managers.

  • Ensure processes for capacity planning are in place to meet customer requirements.

  • Sponsor an environment of Safety, Quality, People Development and CI within Stryker by defining standards and roles/responsibilities.

  • Champion a positive employee environment with open communication, engagement, and development of quality teams; promote inclusiveness and teamwork.

  • Ensure effective talent selection and development, training and performance management processes.

  • Support engagement in internal and external audit programs (e.g., Corporate, notified body & FDA audits).

  • Oversee adherence to KPIs (Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, People Development); participate in local and global forums for improvement.

  • Coordinate capacity across the network to meet customer demands.

  • Represent the Operations function in NPI launches, ensuring resources and finished goods availability.

  • Foster collaboration across functions and develop strategic alignment.

  • Contribute to SYK Site Management Team to develop and implement an operational execution plan for the site.

  • Build a high-trust, engaged culture within operations and develop talent across the function.

  • Support and participate in talent reviews and ensure effective performance management and recognition.

  • Support standardising approaches and practices across Operations Locally and Globally.

  • All other duties as required.

What You Need:
  • At least 5 years manufacturing experience, preferably at production management level, within a team-based manufacturing environment. Medical Device background is desirable but not essential.

  • Degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering or equivalent.

  • Strong team player with the ability to leverage the abilities of all personnel.

  • Competent in preparing business strategies and implementing action plans.

  • PC literacy and strong knowledge of inventory systems, MRP and measurement tools.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a team-based environment with emphasis on accountability for service levels, inventory management, standard cost, expense control and GMP compliance.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage change and develop the team; experience in a unionized environment is an advantage but not essential.

  • Ability to collaborate across functions and drive performance improvements.

Travel Percentage: 10%
