Role And Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

  1. Manage site staff and all sub-contractors on a day-to-day basis to ensure works are progressing as planned.
  2. Ensure all company health and safety procedures are implemented.
  3. Establish and monitor the construction programme.
  4. Check and understand all drawings and specifications. Ensure that any errors/omissions are formally communicated to the design team in a timely manner.
  5. Review designs and make recommendations on buildability and cost-saving for the client while maintaining quality and improving margin.
  6. Coordinate timely flow of information from the design team and prepare information required schedules/RFI's as necessary.
  7. Ensure all long lead-time materials or subcontract packages are coordinated in a timely fashion.
  8. Close liaison with the contracts manager/construction director to ensure business objectives and project strategies are met and exceeded.
  9. Commercially minded – work with project QS's to manage project finances and work to exceed budget targets.
  10. Monitor construction regarding quality of workmanship and materials.
  11. Maintain maximum cost-effectiveness through efficient use of resources.
  12. Ensure compliance with drawings, specification, building regulations, and good building practice.
  13. Establish project resource requirements and lead/motivate the project team.
  14. Ensure compliance with local statutory and regulatory obligations.
  15. Report to management and provide a written weekly/monthly report regarding progress updates on programme and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  1. Engineering or construction qualification and 5-7 years' experience in a similar role.
  2. Team management experience and ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
  3. Good time management skills and ability to meet agreed deadlines.
  4. Must have strong knowledge of building detail and construction technology.
  5. Excellent written, oral communication and time management skills.
  6. Strong IT skills with use of Word, Excel, MS Project.
  7. Procore experience helpful.
