Inspection Finisher

Location: Newtown Mount Kennedy, Co Wicklow.

Contract: Permanent

Salary: €30,000

Shift Pattern: Rotating 2-week pattern

  • Week 1: Monday to Thursday 7am - 3pm, Friday 7am - 12pm
Role and Responsibilities:

As an Inspection Finishing Operator, your duties include ensuring that the rolls of paper are wound to specified lengths on the required core. Paper from the master roll will be fed into a rewind machine that measures the lengths required for the finished roll. The finished reels will then be removed from the rewind machine and labelled with the relevant core and reel end information. Your job also includes maintenance and calibration of your equipment.

Tasks:
  • Loading specified master reels according to job bag and reel identification labels.
  • Printing inner and outer core labels and other customer traceability requirements.
  • Selecting and fixing the correct mandrel according to customer specifications.
  • Sourcing the correct core size according to customer specifications.
  • Setting blades to slit reels to relevant widths, following health and safety procedures.
  • Using AVT inspection to ensure removal of any substandard quality print within the master reels.
  • Maintaining the quality of the slit reels throughout the run.
  • Labeling all reels according to company and customer requirements.
  • Following line clearance procedures after each job and retaining line clearance joins.
Skills:
  • Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate or quickly learn to operate various printing machines and software.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working within a team with good communication skills.
  • Experienced Inspection Finisher.
