Our highly automated plants manufacture Cadbury favourite brands such as Flake, Twirl, and Boost, which are supplied to customers in Europe. As part of Mondelez Europe, we are proud of the iconic brands we make and of the people who make them. Great people and great brands—that's who we are. Join us on our journey to continue leading the future of snacking around the world.
The Coolock manufacturing site has a strong Cadbury heritage and produces unrivalled products in the confectionery market.
As the Manufacturing Operations Manager, reporting to the Senior Manufacturing Site Manager, you will lead the production operations in one section of the Coolock Manufacturing Plant, e.g., Twirl, Flake, or Dairy Milk production areas, delivering key performance targets in safety, quality, cost, productivity, delivery, sustainability, and morale (SQCDSM).
You will manage a team of Production shift line managers, with operators and technicians reporting indirectly in a unionised environment.
You will collaborate with operations teams, engineering teams, continuous improvement teams, Lean Six Sigma team, Planning hub, Human Resources, etc., to ensure effective management of your production area and implementation of manufacturing strategies. To succeed, you will demonstrate excellent people management, leadership skills, and effective employee relations management within your area.
How You Will Contribute
- Manage a team of production shift line managers and oversee processes, efficiency, and outputs of your manufacturing area. Work closely with engineering teams to achieve manufacturing goals.
- Manage change and transformation within the Operating teams during the implementation of IL6S—Integrated Lean Six Sigma, including Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Progressive Maintenance (PM).
- Model company values and principles through coaching, mentoring, and developing your team, all within a unionised environment.
- Support the manufacturing annual operational plans and targets related to Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Sustainability, and Engagement. Coach Line Leaders, communicate plans and targets to employees to ensure alignment and understanding.
- Foster healthy, open, and collaborative relationships by working in partnership with Trade Union representatives and leading the development of good working relationships between management and unions at the local level.
- Establish strong governance to review and control operational performance and Continuous Improvement plans, embedding a zero-loss mindset to continuously improve and deliver best-in-class results internally and externally.
- Lead Talent, Capabilities, and Engagement initiatives for the Manufacturing team—attract, retain, and develop critical talent and build capability at all levels to ensure a sustainable workforce profile for the future.
What You Will Bring
A desire to advance your career along with the following experience and knowledge:
- Strong operational and manufacturing leadership experience in a traditional unionised environment within the CPG industry (preferably food manufacturing), with experience in TPM, 5S, Lean, and Six Sigma tools.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), coaching, leadership, analytics, problem-solving, and team-building abilities.
- An Engineering or Food Science background, complemented by strong financial and business acumen, project management skills, and knowledge of industrial maintenance and manufacturing equipment.
