As a Coastal Scientist at Jacobs, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of coastal infrastructure across Ireland and beyond. You'll be part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team of leading coastal engineers and scientists, contributing to high-profile projects that protect and enhance our coastal environments. Your expertise will help deliver innovative solutions within established frameworks for major clients, as well as bespoke projects for both public and private sectors globally. From concept to completion, your work will directly influence sustainable development in coastal zones, helping communities adapt to changing climates and rising sea levels.

Responsibilities
  • Delivery of coastal projects under appropriate technical guidance and oversight from senior members of the team
  • Liaison with internal clients to develop relationships across the business and form effective teams
  • Support relationships with external clients where required
  • Support aspects of business development such as bid preparation
  • Gain experience in fundamentals of project management
  • Work within established quality management systems, ensuring compliance with technical governance arrangements
Qualifications
  • A degree in a coastal/maritime related discipline ideally with a relevant Masters degree or higher relating to a field of coastal science
  • Working towards Chartership with CIWEM, ICE or other relevant organisation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with colleagues and clients
  • Experience of work within this sector, particularly in Ireland or with Clients based in Ireland would be an advantage
