Site Supervisor
Job Description:

  • The successfulSite Supervisorwill support the delivery of projects across various aspects of the business from a construction perspective.
  • The role involves managing projects to meet predefined timelines and budget frameworks.
  • A strong focus on health and safety, compliance, reporting, and documentation is essential.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing multiple projects across both urban and rural environments.
  • Liaising with clients and their representatives to ensure successful project delivery and strong relationship-building.
  • Reviewing and interpreting detailed construction drawings.
  • Amending designs based on feedback and project requirements.
  • Fostering a leadership-driven environment within the on-site team.
  • Coordinating with Contracts Managers and other Site Agents to manage site activities and resource needs.
  • Meeting customer expectations while building trust and confidence.
  • Continuously improving project delivery processes through critical evaluation.
  • Introducing and applying innovative technologies to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
  • Mentoring design and site teams; identifying training needs among junior staff.
  • Monitoring project progress to ensure completion on time and within budget.
  • Overseeing the delivery and quality of materials; resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with client specifications, safety legislation, and other relevant regulations.
  • Overseeing traffic management and on-site health and safety, including required safety inspections.
  • Coordinating with local authorities for pre- and post-work inspections of footways.
  • Working with scheduling teams to manage workflow and programme delivery.
  • Providing regular status updates to clients; serving as the first point of contact for public and subcontractor queries.
  • Professionally handling customer complaints regarding completed works.
  • Collaborating with clients to help maximise the value of their infrastructure.
  • Ensuring high standards of quality control on all works.
  • Managing required administrative duties in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Performing additional tasks as required by the business.

Essential Experience and Competencies:

  • Full, clean driver's licence.
  • Relevant qualification in engineering or equivalent (desirable).
  • Experience in civil engineering, drainage, or utilities (particularly water and electricity).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction designs and drawings.
  • Commercial awareness of project budgeting and costs.
  • Experience working with multiple teams and managing site operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) standards.
  • Understanding of ground support systems and safe excavation practices.
  • Proficient in standard computer applications and project management tools.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service abilities.
  • Professional integrity and respect for confidentiality.
