The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for all areas of preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, and repair work.

Please note that this role involves shift work.

What you will be doing
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for ongoing planned preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance within the Grifols worldwide operations facility.
  • Responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of packaging lines, facilities, and plant equipment.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and GMP during maintenance work, including keeping workshops and spare parts storage areas organized and tidy.
  • Participate in all training and assessment activities related to the position, including GMP training, equipment technical training, health & safety requirements, and undertake additional tasks as assigned by the maintenance manager or supervisor.
  • Continuously improve production process equipment by identifying and implementing improvement projects to enhance operating effectiveness.
  • Have experience and knowledge of plant maintenance and calibration systems, including software management systems like SAP PM.
  • Be familiar with writing all relevant equipment SOPs and controls for safe operation.
  • Assist in training machine operators on setup, operation, fault correction, and adjustments.
  • Respond to out-of-hours calls and emergencies as part of an on-call roster within the maintenance department.
  • Follow systematic root cause analysis and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
  • Update SAP with relevant work orders and information related to maintenance tasks daily.
Who we are looking for
  • Senior trades qualification and at least 5 years post-qualification experience in mechanical or electrical trades.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical maintenance and troubleshooting of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and high-volume packaging lines.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, interpersonal skills, and multitasking ability.
  • Experience with pneumatics, electronics, hydraulics, programmable controllers, servo drives, HVAC, and vision systems.
  • Experience in high-volume automation and robotics.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing plant equipment like HVAC, process equipment, compressed air, and purified water systems.
  • Understanding of vision systems such as Cognex and Systec is advantageous.
  • Understanding of purified water production and distribution.
  • Experience in a GMP environment with GMP compliance knowledge.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or food manufacturing facilities.
  • SAP PM experience.
  • Experience with PLC Siemens and Omron.
