About the roleThe Business Process Architect will report directly to the Head of Global Business Solutions. This position is a key part of the Global Process Team and is responsible for understanding the company's business strategy, North Star operating vision, business imperatives and capabilities, and how they affect technology imperatives and strategic initiatives. This individual manages a team that defines strategic, core, and support processes across all functional and regional groups. They develop interaction models for people, resources, and controls within process constraints.
The Business Architect partners with the business, global technical business solutions, GI Controls, and IT to ensure adoption of best practices and standardization of business architecture outputs across the company.
Responsibilities- Understand the company's business strategy, operating vision, business imperatives, and how they impact technology imperatives.
- Identify key challenges faced by sponsors and stakeholders and define opportunities to create business value.
- Define business solutions and structures needed to realize opportunities and help set performance goals, metrics, and milestones.
- Review prototypes, enterprise blueprints, and scope to ensure alignment with business imperatives.
- Increase confidence of business and IT leaders in proposed solutions.
- Identify risks and assumptions related to functional elements of solutions.
- Promote and drive adoption of best practices for standardization of business architecture outputs.
- Collaborate with solution/technical architects to deliver necessary artifacts for architecture deliverables.
- Anticipate emerging trends and regulatory/risk issues to recommend large-scale improvements.
- Provide leadership, recommendations, and collaborate to ensure solutions meet business needs on complex projects.
- Manage and lead key business change initiatives, diagnosing problems and applying diagnostic methods to analyze issues.
- Develop solutions through workshops and direct engagement, transforming processes, roles, and technology.
- Lead business process design and improvement efforts using re-engineering techniques, including LEAN.
- Create detailed business cases outlining costs, benefits, and ROI.
- Develop implementation strategies, project plans, stakeholder engagement, dependency mappings, governance, and communication plans.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for solving business problems, creating change solutions, and executing change projects. They should have experience in strategic problem solving, process improvement, business analysis, program and change management, and leading cross-functional teams. Strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, business and commercial acumen, and insurance industry experience are essential. Specific requirements include:
- Experience managing teams in management consulting, business operations, or process improvement roles.
- Experience in the insurance industry, especially commercial P&C, preferred.
- Proven success in leading complex projects and programs for senior leadership.
- Expertise in process mapping, root cause analysis, re-engineering, with Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- Strong executive communication skills and experience working with technology teams.
