Project Intercultural Support Worker

The main objective of the role is to support the local community and the new arrivals to communicate effectively, by providing interpretation, translation and cross-cultural support for recently arrived refugees who will be resettled in Co. Laois. It will involve assisting the Project Integration Support Worker, volunteers and relevant service providers to interact effectively with the new families, including interpretation and translation of documents. The role will also involve supporting the Project Integration Support Worker in developing and organising a range of actions and activities, such as after schools' programmes, women's groups, drop in clinics and developing linkages with clubs and promoting participation by refugees at local level, promoting independence and creating awareness with regards to their responsibilities, as well as the provision of all necessary back office and administrative duties necessary for the delivery of the service. Arabic speaker required.
