I'm currently seeking an ambitious Laboratory Analyst for a site that is currently ramping up it's production.

As a Laboratory Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting our client's operations by performing a variety of laboratory tests and analyses. Your expertise will ensure the quality and safety of their products and processes.

This is an initial 12 month contract role with the possibility of becoming a permanent position in the future.

We are seeking Analysts with a background in an environmental or chemical testing lab and experience in ICP or XRF is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests on samples from operations.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as spectrometers, microscopes, and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzers.
  • Perform chemical analyses using techniques like atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) and inductively coupled plasma (ICP) spectroscopy.
  • Record and interpret test results with precision, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records and reports.
  • Assist in developing and implementing laboratory procedures and protocols.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide technical support and expertise.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of previous experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within manufacturing or heavy industry.
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment, including AAS, ICP, XRF, and other relevant methods.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
