Engineering Technician - Ireland, Sligo - 12 Month Contract. Located on the picturesque west coast of Ireland, our global pharmaceutical client is looking for an Engineering Technician to join their state-of-the-art pharmaceutical facility. They have invested $55 billion in research to develop new medicines and employ thousands worldwide.
Responsibilities- Work as a team member to support engineering in pharma operations in line with safety, regulatory and organisational requirements.
- Participate in design and process project conversations to ensure reliability by design is built in prior to equipment arrival.
- Own and prepare preventative and predictive maintenance for new pharma equipment being installed and approve these procedures in Maximo.
- Complete and document PMs and pDMs on manufacturing equipment in Maximo.
- Own and ensure commissioning spare parts are received and catalogued in Maximo.
- Own and ensure that critical spare parts are identified and catalogued in Maximo upon receipt.
- Actively participate in Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, commissioning and qualification of equipment.
- Review and approve process-related commissioning, qualification and validation protocols for completeness and accuracy. Execute protocols in a timely manner to meet project schedules.
- Review and approve process flow diagrams (PFDs), specifications, layouts and P&IDs.
- Ensure proactive high performance of day-to-day preventative and demand maintenance to maintain manufacturing and utility equipment.
- Liaise with operations, quality and technical operations to maximise equipment and process performance.
- Maintain records and documentation on relevant Engineering Procedures and preventative/demand maintenance.
- Liaise with internal/external engineering personnel and contract maintenance providers to troubleshoot and install/commission equipment.
- Relevant trade qualification or engineering qualification to certificate level at minimum (Diploma/Degree preferred).
- Extensive experience in a highly regulated manufacturing (Pharma/Biologics/Medical Device) environment.
- Proven problem-solving ability on complex equipment, instrumentation/PLC troubleshooting.
- Ability to work under pressure with detailed evaluation of viable solutions; innovative thinking for new and untested solutions.
- Very high attention to detail and mental concentration to ensure accuracy and compliance with procedures.
- Results-driven with commitment to targets and metric standards set by site/department/division leaders.
- Strong commitment to quality and maintaining high standards of work; demonstrates integrity and strong work ethic.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.
- Supports the principles of Perfect Performance.
