Legal Entity Client Asset & Depositor Protection Officer

Join Citi in Dublin as the Legal Entity Client Asset & Depositor Protection Officer. Citi Europe Plc (LE-CAO) is responsible for ensuring compliance with Client Asset Protection and Depositor Protection regulations, maintaining systems, records and controls to evidence regulatory compliance across designated entities. This role operates as part of a regional management group and represents the designated legal entity on client asset protection matters.

• Hold primary accountability for the Firm's compliance with the Central Bank of Ireland's Client Asset Requirements (CAR) and the SEAR Client Asset Responsibilities.
• Provide assurance to the Board, regulators and clients that Citi meets its regulatory obligations in full.
• Represent the designated legal entity on client asset protection matters and contribute to the CADPO Office management team.
• Identify, manage and strengthen internal networks across the group of specialist staff to deliver regulatory standards.
• Maintain and evolve governance, safeguarding and oversight of client assets and deposits; attest to regulatory compliance and quickly address any exceptions.
• Ensure awareness and compliance with new and changed rules affecting client asset and depositor protection; advise operations and business lines accordingly.
• Maintain detailed records demonstrating compliance and governance for consolidated reporting across the Group.
• Build strong working relationships with internal and external auditors; facilitate efficient audit processes.
• Act as the primary point of contact with the Central Bank of Ireland and other regulators on client assets and depositor protection matters.
• Promote a culture of accountability and compliance aligned with SEAR expectations.
• Attend and organise industry meetings to enhance Citi's understanding and influence in this field.
• Review and propose steps to strengthen the firm's systems of control and governance for client asset segregation.

• Hands-on experience in a similar Pre-Approval Controlled Function role.
• Significant relevant experience and knowledge of Client Asset Protection regulations at a senior level.
• Depositor Protection experience is a benefit.
• Proven track record as a successful manager of change and leader of people.
• Proven ability to liaison with regulators, central banks, government and large firm networks.
• Extensive experience in financial services and/or banking.
• Proactive, resilient with sound judgment under pressure.
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree; professional training in law, accounting, economics or corporate governance; leadership training preferred.
