Overview

Embrace are recruiting Team Leads for our adult and children's residential house in Lobinstown Navan Co. Meath. We are seeking applications from Team Leads who have a passion for supporting people in the community and helping them to develop within their homes. The successful candidate will be joining a strong team of existing Social Care Workers and Direct Support Workers and be overseen by a supportive management team.

Our ambition is to offer a strengths-based service that focuses on residents' core interests and encourages their development of new skills. Underpinning all of this is an understanding that we are offering a home for people, and an assurance from us that these homes offer a range of home comforts, on-site amenities and enable local engagement with community initiatives and organizations.

Purpose of Position

The primary purpose of this position is to work as part of a team to support our residents to live fulfilled and wholesome lives, enabling them to learn new skills and live happily and as independently as possible in their home. You will provide care and support through a person-centred approach which promotes the residents' development and growth, social inclusion and activity in their local community. You will also provide residents with guidance, support, training and activities to help them achieve their goals. The Team Lead is on the floor during shifts and is responsible for coordinating the shift and supervising other staff under their direction. In the absence of the Person in Charge (PIC), the Team Lead will deputise for the PIC and assume appropriate management responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • The primary purpose of this position is to work as part of a team to support residents to live fulfilled and wholesome lives, enabling them to learn new skills and live independently as much as possible in their home.
  • Provide care and support through a person-centred approach promoting residents' development, social inclusion and activity in the local community; provide guidance, support, training and activities to help residents achieve their goals.
  • Be part of the on-floor duty team and coordinate the shift while on duty; supervise other staff under your direction.
  • In the absence of the Person in Charge (PIC), deputise for the PIC and assume appropriate management responsibilities.
Essential Requirements
  • Holding a Level 7 qualification in Social Care / Applied Social Studies or equivalent or be pursuing same
  • Experience working in a residential, respite or day service setting with people with an intellectual disability to carry out the full range of duties and responsibilities
  • A kind and compassionate personality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent English
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland
