Prairie Farms Dairy is seeking Career minded Maintenance Personnel. Our Maintenance Techs are responsible for keeping our Prairie Farms dairy plant equipment and tracks in top condition.

Maintenance Technician Position Responsibilities

  • Setting up machines for various products,
  • Trouble-shooting hydraulics, electrical and pneumatics,
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment,
  • Repair, rebuild and welding,
  • Building repair and maintenance

Essential Skills And Experience
  • Mechanical background, welding, electrical, pneumatic & hydraulic, plumbing and reading blueprints are all a plus.
  • Ammonia Refrigeration knowledge
  • Time management: ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong team player
  • Communication skills: ability to communicate with a multitude of plant personnel as well as maintenance personnel
  • The ability to work at heights up to 25' a ladder or man lift
  • The ability to work weekends
  • Waste Water Treatment experience a plus

What are the physical demands for this position?

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be able to bend, walk, work in heat and cold temperatures, get on top of equipment, must be able to climb steps and use a ladder, and enter confined spaces. The employee must be able to respond to production needs quickly and must be able to lift heavy parts and equipment. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Summary

As a Plant Maintenance Technician, you will be a vital part of our team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility. With core skills in industrial mechanic experience, mechanical knowledge, and electrical experience, you will be adept at troubleshooting and repairing machinery to minimize downtime. Your premium skills in HVAC, welding, and precision measuring instruments will be valuable in maintaining equipment to industry standards. Additionally, your relevant skills in high voltage, field service, and customer service will enhance your ability to address maintenance issues promptly and efficiently.
