Daycare at Home Worker

Daycare at Home Worker role at The Alzheimer Society of Ireland in Monaghan. This is a permanent contract, 28 hours per week.

The Alzheimer Society of Ireland (ASI) works across the country in local communities, providing dementia-specific services and supports and advocating for the rights and needs of people living with dementia and their carers. The ASI is currently recruiting a Care Worker who will work for our Monaghan Daycare at Home Services. The successful candidate will work in assigned family homes across Monaghan. This is a permanent contract of employment working 28 hours per week.

• Provide social activity-based care with minimum personal care, including music sessions, reminiscence therapy, arts & crafts, gentle exercises, conversation, companionship and recreational activities.
• Provide person-centred care to people with dementia in the client's own home.
• Work in assigned family homes across Monaghan.
• Demonstrate good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative.

• Previous experience undertaking social and cognitive stimulation activities with people with dementia, older people, or people with intellectual disabilities.
• Full clean driving licence and access to a car (essential).
• Confidence in using IT/Email (desirable).

• Contract: Permanent, 28 hours per week.
