Job Purpose:

The primary objective of this role is to establish a secure and nurturing environment for children residing in residential homes.

Adherence to childcare legislation, national standards, and established care policies and procedures is essential in this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere and maintaining stability within the residence.
  • Promote and advocate for young individuals' rights while fostering their physical, emotional, social, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual well-being.
  • Ensure a safe environment by reporting concerns and adhering to policy and procedures regarding abuse prevention.
  • Supervise outings and undertake daily household activities such as cooking and cleaning.
  • Engage with the Model of Therapeutic Care.
  • Offer emotional support during challenging times.
  • Encourage young individuals' participation in care planning.
  • Collaborate with support networks, including social workers and educators.
