The Procurement Professional is responsible for driving and delivering the procurement plan and activities including overall Category Management, Strategic Sourcing & Stakeholder Management. This role develops and implements Sourcing strategies, tender execution and contracting under Procurement framework, policies and procedures. This role holds strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure procurement competency and continuous value delivery.

What you'll be doing
  • Responsible for the delivery of category plans and sourcing activities
  • Build and maintain category expertise, applying best practices around sourcing approach, supplier selection, total cost of ownership and negotiation tactics
  • Identify cost savings opportunities by leveraging commercial models, contractual terms and operational improvements to minimise the Total Cost of Ownership
  • Collaborate with business unit teams to execute and deliver category plan and sourcing activities against key metrics
  • Adhere to procurement processes and activities with other procurement teams
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the business objectives and key transformational programmes
  • Deliver cost savings through defining sourcing strategies, pricing and contract negotiations with suppliers, award recommendations to the business
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers, negotiate commercial and contractual arrangements
  • Work with a team of procurement professionals to deliver brilliant outcomes for BT and our customers
The skills you'll need
  • Previous experience delivering within a Procurement function
  • Results orientated, ambitious and passionate
  • Self-driven mindset, ability to explore options and think strategically
  • Strong communication, relationship management skills & ability to influence decision making with senior stakeholders within a matrixed environment
  • Experience in business partnering and supplier relationship management
  • Demonstrates strong continuous improvement skills that exceeds customer expectations
  • Interest in working in the telecoms industry, and/or construction industry
