Freelance Technical Writer-Adhoc Basis Cork, Ireland

Freelance Technical Writer for a multinational software corporation. This is an ad-hoc, contract/freelance opportunity with remote work flexibility. The role targets experienced technical writers with a strong background in software documentation, familiarity with DITA authoring tools, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality documentation for software products.
Responsibilities- Support various projects and initiatives within the client company by creating and maintaining software documentation, including in-app help, user guides, configuration guides, and administration guides.
- Follow style guides and templates; adhere to documentation delivery processes; communicate status regularly to the Documentation Lead and colleagues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams as part of a documentation panel of contractors to support workload fluctuations.
- 3+ years as a technical writer.
- Experience writing software documentation, including in-app help, user guides, configuration guides, and administration guides.
- Familiarity with DITA authoring tools and documentation delivery processes.
- Previous experience working at SAP; must pass the SAP technical writing test or be willing to sit the online test to qualify for the panel.
- Excellent writing skills; proactive; able to work in documentation teams and regularly communicate status to the Documentation Lead and colleagues.
- Experience following style guides and using templates.
- Preferably: experience with IXIA CCMS, Jira, GitHub; experience collaborating with user experience designers; experience creating simple graphics.
Location: 100% remote
