Overview

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Compliance & Permitting Consultant to join our UK & Ireland EHS Team within the Environment and Energy business at consultant grade. You will support the growth and ongoing success of the Environmental Permitting business across the UK and Ireland.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver Environmental Permit applications, variations, transfers and surrenders for a variety of clients across the UK and Ireland.
  • Conduct environmental risk assessments and develop mitigation measures and management plans to minimise impacts and enhance performance.
  • Advise clients on legislation, regulatory guidance and Best Available Techniques (BAT); ensure compliance with environmental legislation and BAT standards.
  • Support regulator and stakeholder engagement and work with EHS colleagues and the wider Environment team to deliver robust assessments.
  • Carry out environmental audits, including assessments of legal compliance.
Qualifications
  • Education: A base first degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering or science discipline.
  • Experience: Demonstrable experience in an industrial or consultancy role with a track record delivering Environmental Permitting compliance services and associated documentation.
  • Technical Knowledge: Extensive working knowledge of relevant national and European environmental legislation.
  • Skills: Excellent report writing, technical reviewing, and communication; ability to work independently and as part of a team across projects with tight deadlines.
  • Personal Attributes: Proactive and positive attitude with strong team collaboration; confident liaising with colleagues, industrial clients and regulators.
  • Location: Flexible base location in Belfast, Cork or Dublin with hybrid working.
