Sustainability Coordinator

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sustainability Coordinator. As part of our environmental compliance team, you will play a key role in ensuring that our construction project adheres to all relevant environmental standards and regulations.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Irish environmental legislation and permitting requirements. You will be responsible for conducting regular site audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure that our waste management programme is effective.

We are looking for a self-motivated and organized individual who can work independently on a busy construction project. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will be liaising with clients, contractors, and other team members on a day-to-day basis.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a strong on-site presence through regular site walkovers, toolbox talks, inductions, and trainings;
  • Conduct environmental compliance audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement;
  • Record and close out environmental incidents;
  • Enforce environmental requirements and best practices;
  • Audit onsite waste management programmes;
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of environmental management processes and procedures;
  • Review environmental documentation to ensure risks are identified and managed;
Requirements:
  • BSc or BA (Hons) degree in environmental science or related discipline;
  • Minimum of two years' experience in an environmental role, with experience in construction environmental compliance auditing beneficial;
  • Strong understanding of Irish environmental legislation and permitting requirements;
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently on a busy construction project;
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and other team members;
  • Proficient with MS Office;
  • Full Clean Driving Licence;
