Job Description

Job Title: Home Support Worker

Employer: FYC My Homecare Angles Ltd T/A Komfort Kare

Location: 37 Northwood Court, Block 4, Santry, Dublin 9, D09KN66 and Multiple locations within Leinster Region.

Hours: 39 hours per week

Main Responsibilities:

· To travel to the residence of clients who are having difficulty coping for a variety of reasons.

· To complete all services for that client, as specified in their individual care plan.

· To encourage and motivate clients to maintain their independence.

· To carry out personal and caring tasks as depicted in the care plan that would normally be carried out by the client or family member.

· To assist in maintaining a good level of personal hygiene for the client who may have difficulties in this area.

· To work and communicate with family, relatives, local authority social staff, Public Health Nurses/ Community RGN RPN Nurses and other members of the primary care team.

· To use equipment (hoists, gloves etc.) following completion of required training provided by Komfort Kare, to assist clients in their independence.

· To prepare and cook meals in the client's home.

· To assist with the laundering of client's clothes and light domestic duties if necessary.

· To contact emergency services in cases of emergency.

· To document and report to the Coordinator/ Supervisor on the welfare of the client.

· To attend all study courses organised by Komfort Kare.

· To act in accordance with all KK operational policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Qualification:

- Minimum QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support (Care Skills & Care of the Elderly modules essential)

- Safeguarding Training

- First Aid & CPR

- Children's First (if working with children)

- Hand Hygiene & Infection Control (Covid-19)

Experience:

- Previous experience in a care setting (homecare, residential, or hospital) preferred.

Skills:

- Genuine passion for helping others

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Reliability, flexibility, and empathy

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
