Job Purpose

Ayvens Insurance is seeking a detail-oriented Risk & Controls Accountant to join its finance team. The role will report to the Head of Finance Operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, experience in compliance or financial controls, and a good understanding of the regulatory environment within the insurance industry.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsibility for monitoring and reporting of risks and controls within the finance team
  • Assist in the documentation, testing and improvement of financial and operational controls in line with regulatory, group and company requirements
  • Perform periodic risk assessments and contribute to control enhancements
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory returns and financial reporting compliance reviews
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and responses
  • Assist in drafting and maintaining of policies related to governance, risk and compliance
  • Keep up to date of changes to the regulatory and compliance standards
  • Work with finance, actuarial, risk and IT teams to enhance systems and processes and improve compliance efficiency
  • Design and implement training programmes for finance staff
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in the Ayvens and Societe Generale Groups as required
  • Tracking and monitoring of operational and financial risk incidents and risk metrics
  • Ad-hoc duties within the finance team

Knowledge / Skills

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Experience working with risk and control frameworks within a regulated environment
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment within the insurance industry
  • Attention to detail with a desire to continually improve
  • Self-starter and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Office user, with familiarity of reporting and visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI)
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise tasks
  • Team player that interacts well with both team members and other stakeholders
  • Strong communication and a collaborative mindset
