Overview

Lotus Care provides a range of respite, residential and support services to Children & Adults with intellectual disabilities in a homely and comfortable community setting. We aim to empower people with the necessary skills to live full and satisfying lives as equal citizens of their local communities.

Role Overview

Social Care Worker. Lotus Care is opening a new centre in Roscommon within 8–12 weeks. Working in a supportive, person-centred environment to help service users achieve their goals.

Employment Details
  • Reporting to: Person in Charge
  • Contract Type: Full-Time
  • Working Week: Average of 40 hours per week, day and waking night shifts required
  • Location of Work: Roscommon (New centre, opening in 8–12 weeks)
Role Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and encourage decision-making, independence, and personal development.
  • Provide support in daily living skills, including personal hygiene, health and appearance.
  • Work in a person-centred manner to meet individual care plans and goals.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures, standards, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Administer and document the dispensation of prescribed medication.
  • Undertake key worker responsibilities, helping service owners achieve goals.
  • Document and report incidents and complaints involving staff, service users or visitors.
  • Work with MDT to achieve the goals of service users.
Essential Requirements
  • Minimum Level 7 qualification in Applied Social Studies or equivalent.
  • Registered (or in process) with the Social Care Workers Registration Board by CORU.
  • Hold a full Irish driving licence.
  • Prior experience in social care or healthcare.
  • Working knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Garda Vetting/Police Clearance.
