The Opportunity

This role requires professional expertise in telecommunications. If you possess a blend of telecommunication knowledge, site management experience, strong communication skills, and team spirit, we invite you to join us as a Telecom Engineer.

As a Telecom Engineer at Hitachi Energy, you will assist the installation and commissioning of telecom systems for assignments of low complexity. You will ensure the efficient and cost-effective completion of all commissioning activities in line with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. You will be responsible for the commissioning of a countywide network which needs extensive traveling all over Ireland.

The project is expected to span three to four years, starting from mid-2025.

How you'll make an impact

  • Handle Telecom SDH/MPLS multiplexers, wireless routers, switches, routers, PABX systems, and network management products.

  • Work with PDH, SDH, Ethernet, and MPLS-TP technologies, understanding client needs and proposing solutions.

  • Advise clients on system maintenance and upgrades, and provide training on new products.

  • Represent commissioning at project meetings, implement design changes, and produce project documentation.

  • Support project process and product design improvements by providing feedback.

  • Assist Project Managers with claims, create work plans and cost estimates, and manage work to meet quality, time, and cost targets.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electronics, communication or telecommunication engineering.

  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in telecommunications with hands-on experience with relevant products.

  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
