The position of Project Specialist will support the operations of the Global Logistics Operations Center (G-LOC). This role understands transportation and warehouse business processes to enable an efficient IT infrastructure to meet the demands of a fast-paced Global Logistics Operations Center.
Responsibilities- Become a super user of the Transportation Management System (TMS), developing an understanding of the platform to describe and document business processes for the team
- Seek opportunities for efficiency within current processes, implementing changes as relevant and practical
- Collaborate with colleagues to understand business challenges and find solutions through software systems
- Analyze status quo and business challenges to develop and propose new processes and procedures to support the evolution of the TMS
- Provide trainings and support to colleagues in implementing new processes and procedures, supporting knowledge transfer and user confidence
- Work with the data analytics team to develop reports that measure process success and identify areas for improvement
- Perform operational TMS tasks: performance tuning, security, backups, and other ad-hoc activities
- Develop process flows based on business needs
- Any other duties commensurate with skills and experience as requested by the manager
- Bachelor's degree in IT Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics (or related sciences) with relevant professional experience
- Alternatively, strong experience in freight forwarding with IT affinity and secondary education
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Proven ability to understand data and bridge IT know-how with business understanding, to transfer knowledge effectively between technical and business functions
- Analytical thinking and the ability to abstract complex problems
- Problem-solving skills to add value to processes
- Programming experience, familiarity with SQL and data management/analysis software
- Availability to travel internationally
