Department Overview

This role reports to the IT Project Manager and works closely with Data Center Architects, Infrastructure Managers, and third-party vendors. The engineer will ensure delivery of a compliant and high-quality data center and communication infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day supervision of IT technical third-party vendors (e.g., structured cabling installers), ensuring safety and schedule adherence.
  • Collaborate with Data Center Architects and Infrastructure Managers to identify delays, non-compliance, or risks to project timelines or quality.
  • Oversee implementation with design partners, construction companies, and installers to ensure delivery meets specifications and service levels.
  • Technical scope: MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) and security systems.
  • IT scope: Structured cabling, local wired networks, wireless access points, and Line Manufacturing Network deployment.
  • Maintain clear communication between internal teams, third-party vendors, and Amgen stakeholders, both locally and remotely.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (HBO) in IT, Engineering, or equivalent technical field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in data centers, hosting, or telecom environments.
  • Deep understanding of:
  • IT infrastructure and cabling standards.
  • Networking fundamentals and TCP/IP.
  • IT equipment such as servers, switches, and other network devices.
  • Solid experience with MEP systems in data center contexts.
  • Experience in regulated (GxP) environments.
  • Familiarity with ISO and BS standards (desirable).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Cormant DCIM and RF-Code Asset Manager tools.
  • Proficient in reading SLDs (Single Line Diagrams), reviewing red-line drawings, and using document management systems.
  • Strong documentation skills and structured work ethic.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable delivering projects in compliance with predefined specifications and SOPs.
  • Customer- and service-oriented mindset.
  • Flexibility with working hours (non 9-to-5 mentality).
  • Strong focus on continuous quality improvement.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written).
  • High stress tolerance, adaptable, and organized.
