Overview

Nua Healthcare Services, want you to work as part of our talented multidisciplinary team within Ireland's new and exciting specialist mental health inpatient service which will provide care and treatment for adults aged between 18 and 65 who suffer from a mental disorder.

Responsibilities

  • To co-operate with your employer and to comply with your responsibilities under the Health Act 2007, The Mental Health Act 2001 and Mental Health Amendment Act 2018, the Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and all associated standards, regulations, and codes of practice in so far as is reasonable and practicable.
  • To ensure PP's and or ICP's are up to date and that services are being always delivered to the highest possible quality and safety standards.
  • To be familiar with and to adhere to the local safety statement (risk assessments and standard operating procedures) always.
  • To be familiar with and to adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • To use company IT systems as instructed and to never share your passwords with another or do anything likely to result in the unutilised disclosure of company and or personal data as defined under the General Data Protects Regulations (GDPR).
  • To report any concerns for the safety of our patients to your line manager and or other manager within Nua for appropriate address in-line with company policy.
  • To act responsibly, at all-times, and to co-operate with our regulators in the very best interests of our service and the people who use them.
  • To maintain the highest level of infection control standards as directed by company policy and national best practice guidance in the utmost interests for the Safety, Health and welfare for yourself, your colleagues, our patients and any other persons in so far as is reasonable and practicable.
  • Safe Management and Administration of Medications
  • Utilising nursing skills to support the delivery of effective front-line support to all patients
  • Support the development and implementation of Health Assessments, Medication Plans and all supporting docs outlining supports for individuals including: personal plans, epilepsy plans, diabetic plans etc.
  • Ensure that all Health Action Plans are delivered appropriately to all patients
  • Promote good relationships with primary health care services in each individual's community.
  • Communicate and liaise with the Multi-Disciplinary Team
  • Identify supports and work in partnership with the individual, their family and other supports as outlined within individual Personal Plans
  • Support patients with health appointments and follow through on recommendations.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to patients.
  • Promote & nurture person centred planning using key worker systems and shared goal setting, maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • Support the development and implementation of relevant docs outlining supports for individuals including: personal plans, standard operating procedures etc.
  • Support and promote maximum opportunities for community involvement for people who use the service.
  • Assist DON in regard to compiling and presenting reports as required
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to staff and patients
Skills & Qualifications
  • Be registered on the Psychiatric Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
  • Excellent knowledge of all aspects of Medication Management.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • An understanding of the needs of individuals.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Experience of relating to people in a supportive role.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Reliability and flexible approach to work.
  • Good organisation and IT skills.
  • Self-motivated / Self starter.
  • Ability to plan time effectively.
