About the Role:

EPS Group is actively recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter. In this role within the Service and Repairs division, you will be responsible for the installation and servicing of mechanical equipment on our water and wastewater contracting sites, as well as some industrial sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform mechanical installation and servicing of pumps, blowers, screens, gearboxes, and other mechanical assets in the water and wastewater industry.
  2. Possess working knowledge of mechanical and electrical plant operations, capable of conducting routine planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
  3. Identify mechanical faults clearly and determine solutions, including parts required.
  4. Provide evidence of task completion to the relevant supervisor.
  5. For unfamiliar plant, request O&M manuals and parts lists in advance to facilitate fault investigation or planned service.
  6. Supervise onsite mechanical and electrical works, ensuring completion efficiently, safely, and with quality.
  7. Identify shared equipment needs (confined space gear, Hiab, tools) and organize their availability.
  8. Complete daily reports detailing work performed, materials used, and time on site.
Key Competencies and Skills:
  • Technical Skills: Ability to interpret technical blueprints and manuals.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in maintenance and repairs for optimal performance.
  • Teamwork: Effective communication and collaboration with the team at Mallow head office.
Qualifications:
  • Qualified Mechanical Fitter, Plant Fitter, or Mechanic.
  • Relevant experience considered if qualifications are not held.
  • Full EU/Irish driving license.
