Are you a motivated, compassionate individual with a keen interest in occupational therapy? If so, we invite you to join our dedicated therapeutic team at our residential children's home in Newmarket.

About The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Occupational Therapy Assistant to support the delivery of effective, evidence-based, person-centred interventions within our specialist residential setting. You will be working with a diverse group of children and young people who may have diagnoses including mental health conditions, personality disorders, learning disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorders—all requiring inpatient care and support.

  • Promote mental health, independence, and engagement in daily activities through structured interventions.
  • Assist in assessing functional skills and sensory needs to inform tailored therapy plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, and contribute to clinical discussions within multidisciplinary and teaching teams.
  • Help implement and review personalised intervention programmes that foster learning, social interaction, and meaningful participation.
  • Embed therapeutic approaches throughout students' daily routines, both at home and in the school environment.

  • A creative, self-motivated individual with strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Passion for supporting children and young people with complex needs.
  • An interest or background in mental health, occupational therapy, or special education is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in a residential or care setting is an advantage.

Why Join Us?

  • You'll be part of a committed and dynamic therapeutic team in our residential children's home in Newmarket, helping young people develop essential life skills and confidence.
  • With regular supervision and ongoing professional development, this role is ideal for those considering a career in occupational therapy or a related field.

Safeguarding Commitment
