Our large, multidisciplinary team provides water and wastewater infrastructure services, including drainage design, SuDS, and surface water management, serving clients across the UK and internationally, such as water companies, local authorities, and developers. With increased investment in the water industry, we are recruiting a Hydraulic Modeller for our Water and Wastewater Team in Derby.
This position is suitable for entry-level candidates with limited experience but strong analytical skills and a desire to learn.
What you can bring:- An understanding of the Irish and UK water industries, environment, and sustainability, with a desire to apply your skills to environmental challenges.
- Experience in wastewater modelling using InfoWorks ICM.
- Proactive attitude, with a desire to develop technically and pursue a professional qualification.
- Good communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Your purpose:- Develop computer models to investigate flooding and environmental issues, focusing on sustainability and compliance.
- Create, verify, and analyze hydraulic sewer models.
- Develop 1D and 2D flood risk models.
- Handle and analyze data.
- Use GIS software (e.g., MapInfo & ArcGIS) to understand complex environmental problems.
- Prepare reports and project deliverables.
- Plan and supervise surveys.
- Support junior team members and proactively solve environmental problems.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to address infrastructural and environmental challenges.
- Ensure client satisfaction through effective problem-solving.
- Commit to continuous self-development and fostering growth in others.
