Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Providing day-to-day supervision, support, and guidance to body shop and cleaning staff to ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.

· Allocating work tasks and monitoring progress to meet deadlines and customer expectations in an efficient manner.

· Assisting in training and mentoring apprentices or less experienced colleagues.

Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures at all times.

· Supporting the Group Maintenance Manager in maintaining inventory levels of materials and tools required for bodyshop operations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for:

· Pricing customer work to ensure agreed margin and labour cost.

· Ensuring all works remain within cost budget at all times.

· Carrying out a variety of cosmetic and accident damage repairs, full body sprays, prepping & polishing, minor and major filler and paint work, removing and refitting body panels and trim components, and other general bodyshop tasks.

· Working with a variety of specialised hand and power tools.

Fabrication of part panels and shaping sheet metal on a workbench before welding it into place.

· Application of primers such as etch primer, filler primer, and surface primers.

· Spray painting and preparing new or repaired panels as per manufacturer's instructions.

· Paint finishing and polishing as per manufacturer's instructions.

· Demonstrating good work practices, including timekeeping, tidiness, responsibility, quality awareness, and safety awareness.

Sales and Customer Service Responsibilities:

· Promoting garage services to customers by explaining repair options and paint finish possibilities to drive additional business.

· Preparing basic estimates and quotations for customers where required and liaising with the office to finalise work orders.

· Supporting the team in achieving monthly sales targets by identifying upselling opportunities for bodyshop services.

· Maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach to all enquiries and interactions.

Skills and Competencies:

· Experience in a similar role and the ability to work on own initiative; ability to work as part of a team is essential.

· An understanding of costing and pricing of bodywork.

· Prior experience supervising or coordinating teams in a bodyshop or automotive repair environment is highly desirable.

· Experience working in a similar environment.

· FETAC or City & Guilds Qualification (Irish-based qualifications or equivalent evidence of similar in Europe) is essential.

· Ability to work in a team.

· Ability to work on own initiative.

· Interested in working in a fast-paced environment.

· Attention to detail is fundamental to ensure quality is consistently delivered.

· A continuous improvement mindset.

· Strong communication skills and confidence in engaging with customers to promote services.

· Basic sales acumen and understanding of customer needs.
