Our Client

Our client is one of Ireland's most well known property development companies who are looking to add a Commercial Finance Analyst to the their team.

This is a unique role where the successful candidate will be involved in all things commercial across the group. You will be working very closely with the group financial controller who has established a best in class finance function in conjunction with the CFO. The role will involve adding value on the commercial, budgeting, cashflow management and investment processes so regular exposure to senior executives is inevitable.

Who should apply?

Candidates should have the ability to understand the commercial aspect of a company and to add value to the commercial finance function. From speaking with our client, we have put together potential backgrounds of perspective candidates:

• Financial Accountant/Senior Financial Accountant in a plc or large corporate with a commercial acumen
• FP&A/Commercial Analyst/Finance Business Partner in a plc or large corporate
• Manager/Senior Manager/Associate Director working in audit/corporate finance/transaction services/restructuring in a Big 4/Top 10 practice

Candidates who are industry trained will also be considered if they have the following:

• Commercial acumen and business understanding
• Exceptional analytical skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with both financial and less-financial audiences of all levels of a multi-national organisation
• Advanced modelling, analytical and numerical reasoning skills beneficial

Role and Reporting Lines

Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial Finance your duties will include the following:

• Conduct a full review of the commercial finance function and implement changes needed for a best in class function
• Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Cash management
• Critically analyze capital expenditure using various business intelligence tools
• Analyse financial projections
• Provides analytical rigour, guidance and support for business initiatives, including investment appraisal
• Understand and challenge financial models used in decision making
• Provide full analytical support to business transformation projects
• Drive the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives through continually optimising technology utilisation
