Organization areas

• Core Infrastructure: We're the home for Stripe's critical tier0 infrastructure systems (Compute, Networking, DocumentDB, Distributed Caching and High assurance engineering).
• Developer Infrastructure: We're responsible for the productivity of all developers at Stripe.
• Reliability Insights and Excellence: We build tools and frameworks to introspect and improve reliability across Stripe.
• Application and Revenue Platform: Building scalable infrastructure powering Stripe's applications and services.
• Finance Systems: Enable reliable data, automate processes across Accounting, Tax, Finance & Strategy, FinOps and Treasury.
• Service Platform: Enable engineering teams to write and ship useful services that leverage platform capabilities.

What you'll do

We're looking for Software Engineers who will build software services and platforms impacting thousands of employees and millions of Stripe users. You will design, build, test, and ship great code across technologies, systems, and processes.

• Build a great customer experience for internal and external Stripe teams using our infrastructure
• Participate in roadmap planning and prioritization
• Deliver value through collaboration with multiple customers and stakeholders across Stripe
• Debug production issues across services and several levels of the stack

Who you are

Minimum requirements (required to be considered). Preferred qualifications are a bonus.

Minimum Requirements

• 2-12+ years of industry software engineering experience (does not include internships or co-ops)
• Ability to write well-factored algorithms and experience with data structures and algorithms
• Hands-on experience contributing to or building large scale distributed systems
• Strong coding skills in any programming language (language agnostic interview process)
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across workstreams
• Autonomy, responsibility, and an entrepreneurial mindset
• Interest in working as a generalist across varying technologies and stacks

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience optimizing end-to-end performance of distributed systems
• Focus on user needs (internal and external)
• Maintain a high bar when working with production systems

In-office expectations

Office attendance varies by location and role. Some sites have higher in-office requirements, discussed with the hiring manager. This supports in-person collaboration while allowing flexibility where possible.

Pay and benefits

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €83,200 - €156,000. This range may change if you are hired in another location. Benefits may include equity, bonuses or commissions, retirement plans, health benefits, and wellness stipends. Specific compensation varies by location and can be discussed in the interview process.
