Staff Grade Psychologist

Medforce are pleased to be working with the HSE on the recruitment of a Staff Grade Psychologist who will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide a range of psychological services to service users in accordance with the policies and procedures of the HSE. The postholder will contribute to assessment, formulation, intervention, and evaluation in collaboration with other professionals, clients, and families.

Responsibilities of Staff Grade Psychologist

  • Provide psychological assessments, formulations, and evidence-based interventions to service users.
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing psychological perspectives to team discussions and planning.
  • Provide reports and recommendations as required in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that reflect client needs and service goals.
  • Engage in professional development and clinical supervision in line with HSE standards.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical record-keeping and data collection in accordance with data protection and GDPR.
  • Contribute to service planning, evaluation, and audit as appropriate.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and clinical reviews.
  • Promote recovery-oriented, person-centred, and inclusive approaches in all aspects of work.
  • Contribute to teaching, training, and consultation with staff, clients, families, or other relevant stakeholders.

Requirements of Staff Grade Psychologist :

  • A recognised University degree or diploma (QQI Level 8 equivalent) obtained with first- or second-class honours in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject
  • A recognised postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working within community health or multidisciplinary teams
  • Familiarity with HSE systems and models of care
  • Interest or experience in working with specific populations relevant to the post (e.g., adult mental health, primary care, disability)
