About the Role

The Health Care Assistant is a key member of the multidisciplinary team responsible for caring for our residents. The HCA supports and directs personal care to maximize residents' independence and wellbeing, including attending to their physical, emotional, and cultural needs.

Role Responsibilities
  • Undertake hygiene and dressing care functions for residents.
  • Ensure safe manual handling and transfer of residents within the nursing home.
  • Deliver food and assist with feeding residents.
  • Return used trays and dishes to the kitchen, keeping residents and their rooms tidy.
  • Make beds and change linens.
  • Provide incontinence and toilet care, including emptying commodes and replacing catheter bags.
  • Assist trained nurses with psychological and social support as needed.
  • Maintain vigilance towards residents' dignity, comfort, safety, and whereabouts.
  • Adhere to hygiene, health, and safety regulations continuously.
  • Perform any other duties as required.
