Senior Quantity Surveyor

• 5+ years' experience in the Fit-out / construction sector
• Experience in both pre and post contract cost management and procurement.
• Ambitious and motivated to progress.
• Knowledge of the Irish and UK market
• MRICS advantageous

Job Role:

Ambitious Quantity Surveyors / Cost Managers with 5 years+' experience is required by a leading fitout contractor from Dublin city. The successful Quantity Surveyor will work a range of commercial fit outs and office, public works, retail, hospitality and leisure projects. Other duties include preparing schedules, valuations, variations, financial reports, pre and post contract commercial management and ensuring records and all documentation are in line with company policies as part of an established team.

• Analyse drawings and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour costs vs estimates.
• Take off from drawings to create BOQ for projects.
• All quantity surveying duties including measurements, valuation, and agreement of work sections.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills. A dynamic individual who adapts well to change and can thrive in a rapidly growing organisation that continues to evolve.
• Competent in Measurement packages, Microsoft excel and word.
• Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction manager/supervisors to discuss cost.
• Monitor cost from vendors or subcontractors, explores variances, manging issues in conjunction with manager, deals with cost overseas and recovery.
• Create cost reports on actual costs and examines estimates used by management for purpose such as planning, organising and schedule work.
• Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project manager.
• Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
• Create cash flow forecasts for projects.
• Set up cost monitoring and reporting system and procedures.
• Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost date to be effective on cost reduction.
• Open to travel to site throughout Ireland and UK if required to attend site/ client meetings.
